The sun will have a hard time breaking through the clouds in some areas over the next few days. Fog and clouds will obscure the sunshine in some areas. Rain and some snow will also be mixed in. The new week will then be reminiscent of spring – maximum daily temperatures of up to 14 degrees are possible at the beginning of the week.

Already on Friday, the sky will remain cloudy, apart from sunny spells in East Tyrol and Upper Carinthia, as well as in places in the far west and inner Alps in the afternoon. Rain or snow will still be quite frequent, especially in the northern half of Austria. The snow line in Upper Austria will often be below 700 meters, while in Styria it will mostly be well above 1000 meters above sea level. In the afternoon, precipitation is expected to ease off everywhere. The wind will be light to moderate, mainly from the west to north, with early temperatures of minus two to plus five degrees and maximum temperatures of two to eight degrees.

Fog and high fog will be common on Saturday, especially in the east and southeast. In some areas, these will persist throughout the day, with drizzle possible in places. Elsewhere, the day will often start off quite sunny. Later, some clouds will move through. It will remain dry in many places, but in the afternoon, the chance of precipitation will increase, especially in Vorarlberg and in the border area with Bavaria. Early temperatures will reach minus five to plus five degrees, with daytime highs of around two to nine degrees, depending on fog or sunshine.

Sunday will start with fog or high fog in some areas, but also with residual clouds in the far east. This may result in isolated showers. While the sun will prevail in the east during the day, clouds will often dominate in the west in the afternoon, but there will be little rain. The snow line will be between 1300 and 1700 meters above sea level. The wind will be light to moderate. Early morning temperatures will range between minus six and plus four degrees, with daytime highs between four and ten degrees.

At the beginning of the week, a warm front will cross the Alpine region from the west. Dense clouds and rain are expected throughout the country. After the rapid passage, only local showers and a few residual clouds are expected on Monday afternoon. However, the sun will often shine. The southern side of the Alps will see the most sunshine, and it will also remain mostly dry, mainly from East Tyrol to southeastern Styria. The wind will be mostly light to moderate, with brisk westerly winds, especially on the northern side of the Alps as the front passes. Early temperatures will range from minus four to plus six degrees, with daytime highs of six to 13 degrees.

High pressure will bring calm weather conditions on Tuesday. The day will start with mostly harmless veil clouds. Only in the north will there be dense cloud fields at the beginning, which may bring local drizzle. However, these clouds will move northeast during the morning, so that only high clouds will be visible here in the afternoon. In the west and south, it will even be cloudless at times. The wind will often be light. Early temperatures are expected to range from minus three to plus six degrees, with highs of seven to 14 degrees during the day.
